Emilia Clarke may be best known for her dragons, but in the latest issue of Vogue Australia — which goes on sale April 18 — the 29 year-old Game of Thrones star proves that being Khaleesi isn’t her only party trick.
Within the 10-page the feature, written by Vogue deputy editor Sophie Tedmanson, styled by Vogue fashion director Christine Centenera and shot by Emma Summerton, the actress talks about getting her start in the business (“I grew up understanding the magic of backstage,”), her political leanings (“everybody should have rights, full stop,”) and, of course, her eyebrows (“they’re like caterpillars!”).
The English-bred, L.A-denizen also chats about her next role in Me Before You, which arrives in cinemas on June 23.
“It’s lovely to have a bit more depth in the rom-com world,” Clarke said of the deeply personal role, which finds her as a caretaker charged with watching over a young heir who becomes a quadriplegic. “It was one of the best experiences I had.”
The Zoe Report’s Shannon Nash stopped by recently to discuss Engagement Rings with us. We were more than happy to share some essential wisdom when it comes to selecting engagement rings. From the Zoe Report:
Let’s be honest, when it comes to diamonds, size does matter. The only downside to this strategy is the exorbitant price tag associated with truly perfect diamonds. Luckily, there are tricks and nuanced specifications to look for when shopping that can help wrangle a bigger stone without visibly sacrificing quality.
This Sunday night, we will be tuning in to the Season 7 Premiere of AMC’s Mad Men. Will you?
Set against the backdrop of the NYC advertising industry of the 1960s, we love Mad Men for its top of the line acting, writing, and directing. We also love the fashion and jewelry. As the show enters the last few years of the sixties, we look forward to seeing what designs the era will bring. It reminds of us our stylish Retro pieces — jewelry that is timeless, yet evocative of a groundbreaking era for design and beauty. As we anticipate Episode 1 of the final season of Mad Men this Sunday night, we are reminded of our collection of jewelry, specifically this stunning Retro 1960s Bangle:
Along with an ivory and rose-print Vivienne Westwood silk dress that showed off her bountiful cleavage, Elle’s pick for Woman of the Year was sporting quite the rock on her left hand, a rather traditional-looking piece of jewelry when compared with the turquoise cocktail ring she had on her index finger.
Whether she’s engaged or happily not, the ring is a stunner and worthy of adoration to be sure!
Armed simply with her dusky vocals and acoustic guitar, Colbie Caillat and her homespun music continue to resonate with listeners and win new fans. Little more than a year after the release of her nearly double platinum debut album “CoCo,” Caillat has so quickly made such an enduring impact that USA Today declared the California girl a vital part of “a new wave of troubadours luring fans of all ages into a peaceful, easy feeling.” The national newspaper puts her in the company of other platinum plus artists like Sara Bareilles, Caillat’s musical hero Jack Johnson, and her good friend and duet partner, Jason Mraz.
“Scientists today have discovered a planet in a nearby solar system that is twice the size of planet Earth, made almost entirely out of diamond, and not at all useful to you or me.
Because of its proximity to Earth (40 lightyears, or 230 trillion miles), scientists have been able to study its chemical makeup and surface more closely than they have any other planet of this kind. Cool, right? Would be cooler if we could actually do something with it. The planet, they say, is chemically much different than Earth and is really, really hot—like 3,900 degrees Fahrenheit—rendering it largely untouchable by humans and, therefore, not a viable solution for blood diamonds. (Sorry, Africa).”
