May was a huge month. Still is! We had Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day and Memorial Day. How will June ever live up? Well there is definitely much that June brings—don’t forget about all the Dads out there and a big “Hello!” to Summer. Sunshine, beach, BBQ, travel, escape—summer lovin’. Yes, we’re looking forward to summer and, even though we like it hot, we also love a good cool down.
Let’s start now with this glistening Vintage Diamond and Gold Engagement Ring. Just like all of our Vintage Rings, this piece speaks to the timelessness of love. With a hand engraved hexagon 18 KT white gold setting, this ring is centered around style and grace. At first glance, you won’t be able to resist its stunning shape and refreshing sparkle. The perfect way to cool down as temperatures rise!
Visit our site or, better yet, stop by our Beverly Hills showroom for a better look. Whether you’re in Los Angeles or elsewhere, there’s always a chance for Claude Morady Estate Jewelry to bring a little shimmer to your day. Enjoy the rest of May!
There’s a holiday weekend in our midst! Memorial Day, the 3-day weekend romp that kicks off the summer, is fast-approaching. What are your plans? We’re planning to stick around here and bask in the beautiful Beverly Hills weather for a “staycation.” Some of our best memories are those from right in our hometown of Los Angeles. Often the city feels empty, since everyone’s left town for vacation. Mexico, Hawaii, Palm Springs—all so gorgeous this time of year! Other times, the city is bustling with tourists, filling LA with a welcoming energy. Wherever we are, we try to be with our family, our friends and our loved ones. This weekend we’re hoping to fit in some time at the beach, enjoying homey meals grilled on the BBQ while we suntan and swim in the sea.
At Claude Morady, of course, we do everything in style. We invite you to do the same. If shopping is in the cards for your holiday plans, consider visiting our LA showroom to view our classic and unique collection of jewelry. We are particularly excited about our Engagement Rings, the ultimate symbol of love and commitment. For example, we’re loving this Art Deco Diamond & Sapphire Platinum Ring. This “something blue” will look stunning and special on the one you love. If this is the weekend to propose marriage, Claude Morady is the place to chose your Engagement Ring. There’s nothing like a holiday to make new memories and there’s nothing like a memory to remind you of your love. Whether you live here or are visiting, take time this holiday weekend to celebrate this love in style!
Mother’s Day might be over, but there is still much to celebrate! Memorial Day is approaching soon which marks the beginning of the Summer. We imagine you’ll want to begin the season in style and we’re here to help. For those of you dreading bikini shopping, why not start first with some jewelry to accessorize your soon-to-be beach-ready wardrobe? For your poolside or sandy beach look, you might consider a stack of bangles, some dangly earrings, or even a fierce necklace. Here’s a piece we think would add the perfect shimmer to your summer glow (tan not included):
Behold our Vintage Basket Weave Bracelet, set with Emeralds, Rubies, Sapphires and Diamonds. So, tell us: Where is your vacation spot? Tulum? Hawaii? The Amalfi Coast? Whether you’ll be barefoot in Bermuda or canoodling in Capri, we wish you many Summer dreams. Until then, we’ll be here—counting down with you!
Both best-selling artists in the music industry, they’ve both sky-rocketed to Platinum status. Much like our shimmering collection of Engagement Rings, they are a symbol of strength, union, and power—shining bright like no other. This week we’re featuring this stunning Vintage Diamond Engagement Ring with a Platinum engraved setting. Circa 1920s, it’s almost one century old! We hope you’ll come to our Beverly Hills showroom to view this ring and many more like it. Let us inspire you when picking out a ring, as you always inspire us. After all, you don’t have to be a celebrity to Put A Ring On It!
Happy Earth Day from Claude Morady! This annual celebration, held to inspire support for the environment, was founded from the desire to honor the Earth in a peaceful and loving way. On this day, people around the globe “Go Green,” taking extra steps to protect the environment. If you’re looking for ways to contribute, support, volunteer, or celebrate Earth Day, visit here or here for a few ideas. Whether you chose to walk to work today, plant seeds for the start of your own vegetable garden, or watch the sunset over Los Angeles, we invite you to approach the day mindfully, giving thanks to the gifts from the generous Earth. How will you go green today?
Speaking of green and speaking of gifts, have you seen our Vintage Colombian Emerald Platinum Engagement Ring? Accented with six single cut diamonds, this stunning ring dates back to the 1930s where it was, undoubtedly, worn in style. Like many of the engagement rings from our collection, this ring sparkles in ways that are romantic, unique, and delicate. Come visit our Beverly Hills showroom for a better look. If you stare deep enough into the stone, you may see some of nature’s gems—an Emerald sea, a cathedral of trees, a canopy of leaves. All beautiful offerings from this glistening Earth.
It’s been an exciting week in the sky. On Wednesday, it was reported that astronomers found a diamond engagement ring in space. Of course, it was a planetary nebula and a star, aligned in such a way that gave the appearance of a ring. Telescopes captured the image and, indeed, the sky was bejeweled.
The excitement doesn’t stop there. Tonight and tomorrow, there will be a lunar eclipse. On average this happens only twice a year—making it special, rare, and captivating. In fact, we find the occurrence quite romantic. It requires that perfect moment when the sun and the earth line-up in just a way to cast a dark shadow over the moon. In every case, the moon must be full and, in certain cases, the moon is immersed in a deep reddish orange glow. Perhaps this time around we’ll be lucky enough to see a ruby or a garnet in the sky. Check here for the best viewing opportunities.
This Sunday night, we will be tuning in to the Season 7 Premiere of AMC’s Mad Men. Will you?
Set against the backdrop of the NYC advertising industry of the 1960s, we love Mad Men for its top of the line acting, writing, and directing. We also love the fashion and jewelry. As the show enters the last few years of the sixties, we look forward to seeing what designs the era will bring. It reminds of us our stylish Retro pieces — jewelry that is timeless, yet evocative of a groundbreaking era for design and beauty. As we anticipate Episode 1 of the final season of Mad Men this Sunday night, we are reminded of our collection of jewelry, specifically this stunning Retro 1960s Bangle:
Much like the Emerald City in L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, our perfect Emerald Cut Diamond Platinum Engagement Ring is a shining, bright beacon. In the first Oz book, the Emerald City, like our ring, is full of mystery and wonder. Both the fictional city and our Engagement Ring are glowing and magnetic, yet not green in color despite what the name suggests. Of course, our “Emerald” refers to the cut of the diamond—typically rectangular in shape with facets along the top edge. This Classic Emerald Cut 1.44 carat Diamond is set in Platinum and accented with one single cut Diamond on each side. Circa 1940s, this would be the perfect addition to your Vintage Jewelry collection. Like Baum’s classic tale, this ring is of another era, yet timeless in beauty.
Happy Spring to all of the gems out there! ‘Tis season of re-birth, renewal, and reinvention. There is, however, one things that remains. With Spring we re-welcome April, the Month of the Diamond. Those born this month are no stranger to the brightly shining diamond as it is the official birthstone of April. So treat yourself or a loved one by adding one of our Vintage Diamond Rings to your collection, such as the one featured here. This ring, circa 1930s, features hand engraved designs and an art deco platinum band. While April begins with the fool, there is no fooling around when it comes to the sparkle of the diamond.
